Electrical ratings are written on all products as well as all data sheets. They are expressed as maximum amperes and volts (VAC and/or VDC). For example, the S2A auxiliary switch has two single pole double throw (SPDT) switches that are rated 3A (0.5A) @ 250 VAC max. In conformance with industry and certification agency standards, 3A is the maximum resistive load rating while 0.5A is the maximum inductive load at 250VAC. If a Belimo product is also rated for DC voltage, this will be written on the product and datasheet.
Resistive loads primarily offer resistance to the flow of current. Examples of resistive loads include electric heaters and lights. If the device is supposed to get hot and doesn't move, it's most likely a resistive load.
Inductive loads are usually devices that move and normally include electric magnets, like an electric motor, fan, or relay coil. Transformers also produce inductive loads.
